Lada Nakonechna will present her recent artworks and approaches in dealing with the artefacts and archival materials. Works such as “Socialist realism discourse trap or how to gaze at self-confident man from DDR” or “Travelling head” were conceived as a tool to reveal the structural features of art production, preservation, representation, and other interesting or neglected stories reflected in museum collections. Lada Nakonechna will talk about her idea of “Disciplined Vision,” which is embedded in two exhibitions about the imagination, elaborated by the socialist realist method and its pedagogical approaches. In addition, Lada will share her recent findings from the avant-garde legacy of artist pedagogues developed at the Kyiv Art Institute for a discussion on modern ways of approaching the viewer.
